About Aristos Duque Cabernet Sauvignon

Aristos Duque Cabernet Sauvignon is a wood-aged red wine made by Aristos with the Cabernet Sauvignon variety in Cachapoal, in Chile’s Central Valley. 
 
The Aristos project is run by three winemakers, Pedro Parra, François Massoc and Louis-Michel Liger-Belair who, after spending a long night talking about wines at the Vosne-Romanée castle, decided to start a joint project in Chile with French influences. In 2017 their collective dream came true and they now produce wines that express the wonders of the Cachapoal soils.
 
Aristos Duque Cabernet Sauvignon is made with a blend of grapes from different terroirs on the same estate, lying at 900 metres above sea level. This is a selection of different plots that enjoy high temperatures in summer and rain in winter. The vines are cultivated using environmentally-friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. 
 
In the winery, the Aristos Duque Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged in new and two year old 225-litre French barrels for 24 months before being bottled. 
 
Made in the French style, Aristos Duque Cabernet Sauvignon is an aristocratic wine full of personality. A fruitiness and elegance that speak for themselves, showcasing their place of origin. 
 
2012
Aristos Duque Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of blue fruit, notes of dried flowers and balsamic hints with cassis. On the palate it is fresh, dry and balanced. A wine with a medium body, fine tannins and a marked acidity. The finish is long with an intense aftertaste of cedar, graphite and blackberries.
