About Alceño Rosado
Alceño Rosado is a rosé wine from D.O. Jumilla made by Bodegas Alceño, the first commercial winery in Jumilla founded in 1879 and, currently, is run by the fourth generation of the family.
The climate of this area is continental with Mediterranean influence. This climate is characterised by being sunny with little rain. The annual average temperature is 16º. The winters are very cold and the summers are warm, exceeding 40ºC on some occasions.
This wine is a coupage of Monastrell (85%) and Syrah (15%) varieties grown in their own vineyards in the winery situated at an altitude of 600-800 metres above sea level.
The vines are planted in rocky and calcareous soils.
As for the production, each grape undergoes a separate process. The Monastrell grapes undergo a cold maceration for 6 hours at 15 ºC and, on the other hand, the Syrah undergoes a cold maceration for 24 hours at 15 ºC.
Afterwards, there is a static racking and a fermentation at a controlled temperature of 15-18ºC.
