About Ad Libitum Maturana Blanca

Ad Libitum Maturana Blanca is a white wine produced in Rioja by the Juan Carlos Sancha winery in Baños del Rio Tobia, La Rioja.

Juan Carlos Sancha is the person at the helm of the project, with 5.5 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards in the Najerilla valley, La Rioja Alta. He has been one of the driving forces behind rescuing the area’s old varieties and going back to growing wines like this Maturana Blanca. 

The Maturana Blanca vineyard is currently 16 years old after having carried out massal (mass) selection. It is harvested manually into boxes and destemmed. After static racking, it ferments in 500 litre barrels at a controlled temperature of 18ºC.
