About Castell d'Encús Acusp
Castell d'Encús Acusp is an exceptional red wine crafted in the D.O. Costers del Segre by the winery Castell d'Encus.
Castell d'Encus is the personal endeavour of Raül Bobet, renowned for producing one of the trendiest wines in Priorat, Ferrer Bobet. Raül Bobet adheres to a genuine philosophy, centred on meticulous vineyard care, passion, utmost dedication, and respect.
Castell d'Encús Acusp is a single varietal of pinot noir, sourced from vineyards planted at an altitude of 1000 metres, making it the highest-altitude winery in all of Spain, surrounded by forest and benefiting from extensive sun exposure. They are planted on loamy-calcareous soils. Poor soils, combined with a climate of significant temperature contrasts, yield grapes of exceptional quality.
Harvesting is conducted manually, and the grapes are transported in small 10 kg boxes, ensuring they remain in perfect condition. Castell d'Encús Acusp undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels. Castell d'Encús Acusp is neither filtered nor stabilised, so some sediment may appear.
An outstanding red wine. Fine, smooth, elegant. Spectacular. A superb mountain wine. A wine of great altitude.
