Abel Mendoza Risueño 2021 is a rosé wine that offers subtle floral and fruity notes and nuances of dried herbs on the nose. The palate is sweet and well-structured. A very gastronomic, savoury and fresh rosé wine with pleasant tannins. There aren’t many bottles available.

About Abel Mendoza Risueño

In 1988, Abel Mendoza (vine grower) and his wife, Maite Fernández (winemaker) founded a small winery in San Vicente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja) and started producing young red wines. A winery with a short but fruitful life, where we can now find wines with a very personal character. The wines they make are rare, curious and highly sought after from the D.O.Ca. Rioja.
 
On 18 hectares of their own vineyards, with a hilly terrain of clay-limestone, sandy and stony soils, they grow red grapes: Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha, and white grapes: Malvasía, Viura, Torrontés and Garnacha Blanca. The plots are cultivated with respect for the environment and the grapes are harvested by hand. All of this is done with the aim of creating wines with their own personality.
 
Abel Mendoza Risueño is the latest addition to the Abel Mendoza collection. The first rosé wine produced by the winemaker, which stands out for its smoothness, savoury touch and good structure.
 
If there is one downside to Abel Mendoza Risueño, it is the low production. A delicious pleasure in small doses that you won’t want to miss.
