Aalto PS 2021 is unveiled with a resplendent violet hue that foreshadows its profound intensity. Aalto PS is a red wine made by Bodegas Aalto in OJ Ribera del Duero.
This is an exceptional wine. PS refers to the selected settlements from which the grapes come. They are the best grapes of the Tinto Fino variety, from 60 to 100 year-old strains.
Harvesting is done manually and the grapes are transferred to the cellar in boxes of 15 kg to avoid breakage.
Harvesting is done in times with little sunshine, thus maintaining maximum freshness of the grapes in their arrival at the winery.
Once in the winery, the grapes undergo a second selection process bunch by bunch. The grapes are de-stemmed and fermented separately, each grape at a temperature of between 20 and 25 ° C.
Bleeding is used only for the highest quality wine. The malolactic fermentation takes place in French Allier oak barrels, where aging also occurs for 24 months.
Aalto PS is clarified using natural egg white before bottling. Once bottled, it rests in the bottle for some time before going to market.
Aalto PS can be consumed now, but also has a huge storage capacity. A complex wine from the Ribera del Duero, very fruity and extremely elegant regarded by many as one of the great wines of Spain. A real treat.

Aalto was founded in February of 1999 by Mariano García —who for 30 years was the technical director and oenologist of Vega Sicilia— and Javier Zaccagnini —who was the Director of the Regulatory Council of D.O. Ribera del Duero for 6 years— when they both decided to join their abilities and experience to start a unique project. Their aim was to produce wines that, from the first moment, showed a differentiated personality, where the power and the structure with constitute their elegance and complexity. Nowadays, and since it was founded in 1999, Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos has continued its unstoppable path and has been able to place its wines among the best ones in the world.
