4 Monos Tierra de Luna 2021 exhibits a subtly mature profile, where aromas of red fruit such as cherries and strawberries are prominent, accompanied by spicy notes and a hint of scrubland. Its nose is of low intensity, yet invites one to explore its complexity. On the palate, it offers a pleasing texture and a brisk, almost saline finish, making it highly intriguing. This is a concentrated red wine that captures the essence of its terroir, perfect for enjoying in good company.

About 4 Monos Tierra de Luna

When no one believed in the abandoned vineyards in the Sierra de Gredos, Madrid (Spain), David Moreno was guided by his intuition that these lands held untapped potential. It was then, alongside his three friends Javier García, Laura Robles, and David Velasco, equally passionate about wine and the mountains, that they resolved not to let this opportunity slip away. Under the name "4 Monos", they aimed to prove that, despite being few in number, they were capable of achieving great things! As a result, they now present wines that are fresh, vibrant, and brimming with minerality, beginning to make a significant impact. So much so that their small productions are flying off the shelves.

A project that arose almost by chance and is driven by the perfect combination of the garnacha grape variety, a unique granitic soil, and a privileged high-altitude climate. 4 Monos Tierra de Luna is a testament to this work. It is a red wine crafted from the garnacha tinta and cariñena varieties, sourced from old vines planted on sandy, granitic, and schist soils at altitudes ranging from 600 to 1200 meters above sea level. In the winery, the grapes, partially with stems, undergo fermentation with indigenous yeasts and age in French oak foudres for 16 months.

Since they came together to create wines that encapsulate the essence of the garnachas from these exceptional lands, 4 Monos Tierra de Luna stands out for its earthy and structured character, reflecting the uniqueness of a land that is worth far more than it initially seemed.
