2022

Tasting notes Zuccardi Polígonos Paraje Altamira Malbec 2022
Red wine Aged in concrete Respectful agriculture.
Zuccardi Polígonos Paraje Altamira Malbec 2022 exhibits an inviting deep red hue, bordering on violet, which is a delight to behold. As you approach the glass, the intense aromas of ripe berries, such as blackberries and raspberries, along with plums, immediately envelop you, while a subtle whisper of chocolate complements the experience. On the palate, this powerful and silky wine offers an explosion of fruity nuances and a delicate spicy touch. The presence of vanilla and toasted notes adds complexity to the flavour profile, resulting in a rounded structure and a long finish. This Malbec is ideal for its balance between intensity and elegance, where its tannins are beautifully integrated, offering a pleasurable and memorable tasting experience.

About Zuccardi Polígonos Paraje Altamira Malbec
“Family businesses, with each generational shift, are either redefined... or they dissolve” With this statement, Sebastián Zuccardi not only encapsulates his vision but also embodies the essence of a winery that has successfully reinvented itself without losing its core.
As the third generation of one of Argentina's (and the world's) most esteemed winemaking families, Sebastián did not inherit a formula; he inherited a conviction: wine is far more than just a beverage. It is landscape, culture, community. It is a magical endeavour.
Thus, from the heart of the Uco Valley, where the Andes Mountains transform into vineyards, Zuccardi has pioneered a new way of conceptualising Argentine wine. With 12 estates and over 1,100 hectares, they craft what they term mountain wines, where each plot articulates its identity with surgical precision.
On this path, the Polígonos wines emerge, a collection that bears not only the signature of Zuccardi but also that of the villages where they originate. One such wine, Zuccardi Polígonos Paraje Altamira Malbec, is a quintessential snapshot in a bottle.
Hailing from a special corner in the southern Uco Valley, situated between 1,050 and 1,150 metres above sea level, Altamira combines altitude, a cool climate, and colossal stone soils coated with calcium carbonate. The Malbec produced here is pure Andean character.
Fermented with native yeasts and aged exclusively in concrete, without any wood intervention, this wine allows the terroir to speak unfiltered. Fresh, precise, with a firm texture and pronounced minerality, it is a Malbec of pure identity, conveying the soul of Altamira without embellishment.
For when the mountain becomes wine, and tradition meets innovation... it is not a redefinition, but an evolution.
