Vegan wine

We talk about vegan wine when a wine is suitable for consumption in line with the vegan diet, a diet that excludes any type of product derived from animals. You might think that all wine should be vegan wine, since it’s a product that comes from the grape. The problem arises in clarification, a process that is applied to wine to clean out impurities. This clarification is often performed using products derived from animals, such as egg albumin, casein or gelatin. Vegan wines, on the other hand, are clarified with vegetable proteins, with clay powder, or are sold without clarifying, so that they don’t have any contact with any product derived from animals.
