Rum

Rum is a spirit obtained from sugar cane and originates from the Caribbean, mainly Barbados, from which it extended to other neighbouring Caribbean countries. Today rums from Cuba, rums from Dominican Republic and rums from Jamaica are perhaps the most well-known and highly regarded.
After fermentation and the distillation process, rum is aged in barrels, either using the solera system or in static barrels. Depending on the time of this aging in barrels there are various different types of rum: white rum, gold rum, dark rum or old rum.
