Edetària Lassot

Tasting notes Edetària Lassot 2023
Red wine Aged in clay Organic. 10 months in amphoras.
Edetària Lassot 2023 unveils an alluring combination of aromas on the nose, where red fruits such as raspberries and blackberries stand out prominently. These fruity notes are interwoven with subtle floral hints and a delicate spiced nuance that invites further exploration of its layers. Upon tasting, it reveals a fresh and juicy entry; its body is balanced, offering immediate pleasure with each sip, culminating in a long and persistent finish. This wine is an ideal recommendation for its versatility and harmony. It is a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth, yet also promises to evolve gracefully if given time in the bottle. Its balance and aromatic richness make it an outstanding choice for those who appreciate fruit-forward wines with a subtle touch of elegance.

About Edetària Lassot
The Romans did not construct roads for the sake of it; they built genuine stone highways to move troops and goods at the speed of an imperial WhatsApp. One such road, the Vía Edetana, began at the port of Dertosa (now Tortosa) and ascended the river to Cesaraugusta (Zaragoza). Along it travelled legions, sacks of wheat, rolls of wool... and amphorae brimming with wine that eventually sailed the Mediterranean towards Rome. The road's name honoured the Edetani, an Iberian people who cherished their vineyards long before Julius Caesar made the toga fashionable.
The road was eventually buried under centuries of dust, but its spirit continued to thrive in the vines of Cariñena and Garnacha that remained guarding the area. This is where Joan Àngel Lliberia comes into the picture. After working for various multinationals, he returned to Gandesa with a clear mission: to give voice to that history through his winery Edetària.
The evidence is in Edetària Lassot. This red wine is born from 40-year-old organic Garnacha Peluda, rooted in limestone soils (tapàs blanc) that crunch underfoot. The harvest is done by hand, and the bunches travel in fifteen-kilo boxes, without haste or damage. Once at the winery, the must rests for a few days in the cold and ferments slowly. No oak is used; the wine spends 10 months in stoneware amphorae, where the clay breathes and refines the tannins with the tranquillity of a summer siesta.
The result? Edetària Lassot presents itself as light, fruity, and mineral. One sip and you understand that the ancient Vía Edetana is still in service, as this wine today transports history, landscape, and pleasure directly to your glass.
