About Bela Heredad Arano Crianza

Bela Heredad Arano Crianza is a red wine that pays tribute to the pioneers of CVNE, the renowned Rioja winery. The name of the winery, Bela, is an homage to the figure of Sofía Arano, affectionately known by that name, the great-grandmother of the current winery managers, whose legacy has endured since 1879. The label of this wine, inspired by one from 1910, reflects the profound connection with family history and the vision of a legacy that remains alive in every bottle.

Bela Heredad Arano Crianza is a young project with deep roots, as the Bela winery, founded in 2017, stands in Villalba de Duero (D.O. Ribera del Duero) as a new chapter in the history of CVNE outside Rioja.

The estate vineyards, over 20 years old, in Moradillo de Roa (Burgos, Spain), at an altitude of 1000 meters, offer selected tempranillo grapes from unique plots with stony soils and a varied composition: from gravels and silts to sandy-loam textures and a medium-high level of limestone, which impart character and complexity to the wine.

The meticulous and modern winemaking process begins with a manual harvest in 10 kg boxes and a cold pre-fermentation maceration that preserves the best of the fruit. Subsequently, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel before being aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, which imparts a solid structure and balance on the palate.

Bela is an avant-garde winery of over 6,000 square meters capable of housing up to 10,000 barrels. A luxurious home for Bela Heredad Arano Crianza, a red wine with sufficient maturity to be enjoyed now, but with an aging potential that will allow it to continue developing in the bottle.
