Aalto 2022 is a red wine that stands out for its freshness and maturity. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits, such as cherries and blackberries, accompanied by sweet notes of vanilla and liquorice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and juicy, with hints of coffee, tobacco, and fine wood like cedar. Subtle mineral notes of graphite are also discernible. A modern and powerful wine, with a concentrated yet approachable profile.

About Aalto

Aalto is a red wine from the D.O Ribera del Duero produced by the winery Aalto. The grapes used to produce Aalto, originate from very old wines between 40-80 years of age, and young vines. The grapes come from 2 fields owned by the winery and other distributors from 7 towns in Ribera del Duero.

The harvest is completed by hand in October. The grapes are then transported to the wines in small boxes (15kg max) to avoid the grapes breaking and loosing freshness.
The grapes are subsequently chose from an extensive search for the best quality on the sorting table.
After the various process methods, Aalto is fermented and aged for 20 months in new and semi-new French and American oak barrels.

Aalto aged very well in the bottle and can be consumed in the next 15-20 years. It is recommended to decant before serving to enjoy it to its fullest potential.
Aalto is a wine with great national and international acknowledgements. The wine has won many awards and received high scores from the most prestigious of judges.

2022

Aalto 2022 is a red wine that stands out for its freshness and maturity. On the nose, it offers intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits, such as cherries and blackberries, accompanied by sweet notes of vanilla and liquorice. 2021

Aalto 2021 is a concentrated red wine, with a purple color, very elegant and powerful. On the nose, it's very complex, with notes of red fruits and hints of spices (licorice). On the palate, it's silky and well-balanced, with a very tasty acidity. Impossible to have just one glass!
2020 Aalto 2020 is a red wine that on the nose offers delicious notes of ripe fruit and spices, accompanied by touches of freshness and minerality. On the palate, it is full-bodied with an excellent structure. Silky tannins and excellent acidity accompany its elegant complexity. A precise red wine with a long, fresh finish and excellent ageing potential.
2019

Aalto 2019 is a mature red wine boasting a complex bouquet of red fruit, nuanced spicy aromas derived from its maturation process, and refined mineral undertones. On the palate, it is full-bodied, robust, and well-structured. This medium to full-bodied wine exhibits a significant tannic backbone, a silky and vibrant mouthfeel, and a prolonged, enduring finish.
2018

Aalto 2018 is an opulent red wine redolent with ripe red and black fruit aromas, spiced nuances, and delicate hints of licorice. On the palate, it is intricate, robust, and well-constructed. This wine exhibits refined and velvety tannins alongside a vivifying acidity. The finish is extensive, enduring, and has a balsamic quality.

 
2016 Aalto 2016 is a deep red wine that is powerful and concentrated. Another very good vintage for this extraordinary wine, which is expressed on the nose with distinction with aromas of ripe black fruit, and elegant toasted and spicy notes over a subtle mineral base note. On the plate it has a voluminous entry, is silky, with volume and structure and a very lingering and pleasant finish.
2015 This 2015 vintage, which is qualified as excellent, is one of the essential ones to understand Aalto. An optimum degree of maturity for the extraction of elements has favoured a good ageing in the barrels. As a result, we have a wine with a concentrated profile, where the black fruit perfectly combines with the spices provided by its ageing. An essential for those who love opulent wines.
2013 Fresh and intense, sweet tannins and well-balanced. Persistent finish and a constant fruity reminiscence.

Intense cherry red, clean and bright.

Strong presence of fruity notes on a liquorice base. Mineral undertones and characteristics of the ageing process presented by the barrel.
2012 Ample, powerful, ripe but with a very good acidity throughout. Fleshy and fine tannins. An extraordinarily long finish.

2011 High integration between the fruit, wood and alcohol. Very polished tannins. A very flavourful and balanced wine.

2010 Elegant, very tasty and concentrated wine with an excellent, very bulky attack and a silky texture. It shows a long, very intense mid palate with notes of fleshy fruit wrapped in the creaminess provided by the aromas of sweet spices, bitter cocoa and fresh liquorice. It has nice noticeable tannins, a fresh and balanced acidity and a very long and persistent finish with very pleasant toasted aromas. A concentrated, complex and friendly wine.  The pleasure of a great wine.

This deep and elegant Aalto 2008 has a broad and bulky attack. It has a very tasty, smooth and fleshy mid palate, full of intense flavours, with a good presence of notes of black fruit, snuff, toffee, chocolate and licorice and a very well integrated mineral touch. Very tasty tannins, still marked but pleasant in the palate. Long and lingering finish with a balsamic and mineral aftertaste. A concentrated, complex and nice wine.

Intense aromas. The good notes of wood stand out in the foreground. When it opens up, its multiple flavours become huge and complex. Many notes of black fruit are noticed along with coffee, black chocolate, licorice, tobacco and fresh balsamic touches on an elegant mineral background. Broad and dense attack. Aalto is a tasty wine, with a silky mid palate, and succulent flavors. Balanced and harmonious, with ripe tannins and refreshing acidity. Long and persistent.
