Aalto PS 2022 is a red wine with a brilliant red hue and garnet reflections, highly pleasing to the eye. On the nose, it unveils a wide array of aromas including red fruits such as cherries and strawberries, as well as fresher fruits like blackberries. Spicy notes with hints of coconut and vanilla are also discernible, owing to its barrel ageing. On the palate, it has a powerful entry, with substantial body and fresh, elegant tannins. Its finish is long, fresh, and unforgettable.

About Aalto PS

Aalto PS is a red wine made by Bodegas Aalto in OJ Ribera del Duero.

This is an exceptional wine. PS refers to the selected settlements from which the grapes come. They are the best grapes of the Tinto Fino variety, from 60 to 100 year-old strains.

Harvesting is done manually and the grapes are transferred to the cellar in boxes of 15 kg to avoid breakage.

Harvesting is done in times with little sunshine, thus maintaining maximum freshness of the grapes in their arrival at the winery.

Once in the winery, the grapes undergo a second selection process bunch by bunch. The grapes are de-stemmed and fermented separately, each grape at a temperature of between 20 and 25 ° C.

Bleeding is used only for the highest quality wine. The malolactic fermentation takes place in French Allier oak barrels, where aging also occurs for 24 months.

Aalto PS is clarified using natural egg white before bottling. Once bottled, it rests in the bottle for some time before going to market.

Aalto PS can be consumed now, but also has a huge storage capacity. A complex wine from the Ribera del Duero, very fruity and extremely elegant regarded by many as one of the great wines of Spain. A real treat.

Upon the palate, its framework is sturdy and ample, delivering a silky texture that culminates in a lingering and sophisticated finish. This red wine exhibits the opulence of its maturity whilst retaining a refreshing vivacity.

Aalto PS 2020 is a red wine with a red-purple hue. On the nose, it offers aromas of blackberries and black plums, accompanied by elegant hints of spices. On the palate, it is long and fresh, with well-integrated tannins. Its presence in the mouth is broad, revealing a multitude of complex nuances thanks to its barrel aging. Its profile is concentrated and well-balanced.

Aalto PS 2019 is a robust wine. On the nose, it is refined, featuring toasted nuances, spices, cocoa, and dark fruits. The palate is vibrant and concentrated, with enveloping tannins. It offers a prolonged and profound experience, with complexities that will enhance over time.
2016 Aalto PS 2016 is a mature, complex and deep red wine. A spectacular vintage of one of the gems of Ribera del Duero. Aromas of black and red fruit with toasted notes of tobacco, cocoa and coffee over a very elegant spicy base note. On the palate it is sweet and full with an exquisite tannin level, with a pleasant final freshness that makes it very lingering.
2013 Refined and harmonious. Delicate yet rich in fruit character. Exhibits smooth, velvety tannins. Concludes with a persistent and extensive finish.

Deep cherry red hue with violet undertones.

Strikes a balance between red fruit aromas and hints of licorice, complemented by spicy reminiscences and toasted notes.

2011 Upon tasting, this wine exhibits a remarkable balance. The tannins are present yet exquisitely refined. It is a wine of great elegance.

Aalto PS boasts an intensely dark red hue that stains the glass.

It presents a vast complexity of aromas: liquorice, flint, spices, fine woods, toasted bread.
2010 Excellent and full-bodied red wine from the Ribera del Duero with a long mid palate in which its wide sensations coat the mouth constantly. Very silky, very tasty (even sweet) mid palate, with extraordinary notes of ripe fruit, creamy spices, chocolate and some very well integrated and melted toasted hints. Its balsamic notes, along with its good acidity, proved this wine with freshness. A very, very long and very persistent finish.

Very dark, intense and deep cherry colour with purple reflections. Clean and bright well covered wine, with dense, very slow-falling tears.

High aromatic intensity with expressive notes of red and black fruit that gain in strength as the wine opens up. Creamy and mellow spices are noticed along with the fruit. Once it opens up, its notes of cocoa, its smoked aromas and its elegant and intense toasted notes are felt and wrap the whole set. Some subtle mineral and forest touches are felt in the background. A nose that becomes more exuberant and charming with some time.
2009 Huge, powerful, full-bodied and very bulky red wine, with intense and well-integrated notes of ripe fruit mixed with toasted, chocolate and balsamic aromas that melt in the mouth with creaminess. Very tasty and sweet. Excellent acidity. Well integrated tannins. It has a very, very long and very persistent finish. A pure pleasure! A hardly forgetable experience!
