About Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Arrebatacapas
A few years ago, while journeying along the transhumance route of the Cañada Real, Telmo Rodríguez arrived at the slopes of Arrebatacapas. Here, in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos - at approximately 1,050 metres above sea level - the renowned oenologist and viticulturist discovered some "remarkable" garnacha vines thriving on a slate soil, interspersed with significant quartz veins. Specifically, it was an abandoned vineyard, barely two hectares in size, planted in 1953. From this arises Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Arrebatacapas.
Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Arrebatacapas is a red wine that is not only special due to its origin but also because of its production process, as it ferments in vessels made of various materials, such as oak barrels, stainless steel tanks, and clay amphorae. Ultimately, after fermenting with indigenous yeasts, Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Arrebatacapas will undergo approximately 12 months of ageing in French oak barrels.
Throughout the entire production process, Telmo Rodríguez adheres to biodynamic practices, thereby ensuring the utmost quality of the grapes. Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Arrebatacapas is merely the tip of the iceberg; the gratifying result achieved after more than a decade of dedication, when no one believed in these vineyards located in the heart of Spain. Now, Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Arrebatacapas has become indispensable; truly a great wine that should not be missed. Hurry, it's flying off the shelves!
2021 |
Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Arrebatacapas 2021 boasts a vibrant red hue that beckons you to indulge. On the nose, it reveals prominent notes of red fruits such as cherries and strawberries, complemented by a subtle hint of vanilla derived from its barrel ageing. On the palate, it is a light and fluid wine, with a balanced acidity that renders it exceedingly pleasant. Its finish is fresh and lingering, imparting a sensation of fresh fruit that entices continued enjoyment.
