About Paso a Paso Tempranillo

Paso a Paso Tempranillo is a red wine from DO La Mancha prepared by Bodegas Volver, one of the wineries in the Jorge Ordóñez group which, together with the supervision of winemaker Rafael Canizares, has produced quality wines since 2004.

The climate in this area is characterized by extremely continental cold winters and hot summers. The large seasonal temperature variation is perfect for proper ripening of the grapes. This is a very dry climate and the mountains act as a natural barrier to the humid fronts coming from the sea. This wine is a varietal Tempranillo from vineyards 40 years old. These vineyards were planted at 660 metres above sea level, on sandy soil with limestone substrates. As for processing, after selection of the grapes takes place, there is fermentation and maceration before moving onto the aging process. Paso a Paso Tempranillo spends six months in French oak barrels which have been aged for 2-3 years.

The nose is fresh and fruity, intense aromas of ripe red fruit appear alongside a spicy background marked with wood.
