About Kamil Barczentewicz Pinot Blanc Béton
Few believed in a young and diminutive Leo Messi during his early days in Barcelona… until he touched the ball.
Similarly, Kamil Barczentewicz is currently an emerging star in the Polish wine scene. Situated in the Małopolska region, in the east of the country, his venture was established in 2017 after training in France and Austria. He represents a new generation of winemakers who blend technique, sensitivity, and a profound respect for their land.
Upon returning home, Kamil takes charge of the family's 12 hectares with a clear philosophy: to intervene as little as possible to let the terroir speak. This is evident in each of his bottles.
Specifically, Kamil Barczentewicz Pinot Blanc Béton hails from a southwest-facing plot, situated between 130 and 180 metres above sea level, where pinot blanc vines are planted on limestone soils and bathed by the typical continental climate of the region, characterised by significant temperature variations.
In the winery, the vinification mirrors his philosophy of minimal intervention. A spontaneous fermentation takes place, followed by 11 months of aging on lees in egg-shaped concrete tanks, which imparts texture, tension, and a vibrant minerality that defines the wine's character.
Kamil Barczentewicz Pinot Blanc Béton is an elegant, pure, and profound white wine that not only showcases Poland's potential as a wine region but also Kamil's vision as one of the names to watch closely on the European wine map. It is the affirmation that, sometimes, the extraordinary comes from the least expected places. Like that boy from Rosario who, one day, simply touched the ball.
