About El Torrent de la Vida

El Torrent de la Vida is a natural and ecological sparkling wine made by Amor Per La Terra in Empordà (Catalonia) with the Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel·lo varieties.

Amor Per La Terra is a project set up in 2019 by Xavi Rutia, Salvador Batlle and Jaume Jordà with the aim of promoting the work of farmers who take care of the land through biodynamic and ecological cultivation. They choose vine-growers who share their philosophy and together they make natural wines in the Alt Empordà, Penedès and Alt Camp regions.

With the El Torrent de la Vida wine, the leading vine-grower is David Baixas. He cultivates vineyards located in the town of Aiguamurcia (Tarragona) with clayey and calcareous soils. He uses ecological agriculture and biodynamic treatments instead of chemical products. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

In the winery, the El Torrent de la Vida grapes macerate for 2 days with their skins. Then spontaneous fermentation begins with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and ends in the bottle itself. The wine is not filtered or clarified.

With a focus on maximum care for the environment and the grapes, and avoiding doing anything that could mask its true character, El Torrent de la Vida is a sparkling wine with stand-out authenticity.

2022

Torrent de la Bruixa 2022 is a fruity, clean sparkling wine with refreshing bubbles. Slightly aromatic, with notes of white fruit, citrus and soft mineral tones. Expressive, joyful and simultaneously intricate and long lasting.
2019 El Torrent de la Bruixa 2019 is a fruity sparkling wine with hints of fresh white fruit and citrus with a lightly floral background. On the palate it is light and fruity with a very refreshing acidity.
