The winery Dr. Loosen, with over 200 years of history, is one of the great names of the Mosel Valley. Since Ernst Loosen took the helm in 1988, he has skillfully combined the legacy of his ancestors—ungrafted old vines in historical sites—with a clear vision: to create wines that are the purest reflection of the soil, the grape variety, and the environment. His Riesling wines resonate in all possible tones: from the dry whisper to the sweetness of a late kiss. White wines born on impossible slopes, under the watchful eye of the river and the protection of a mountain shielding from the cold.
 
Dr. Loosen Red Slate Trocken originates from estate-owned vineyards located in Ürzig, Erden, Lösnich, and Kinheim, where red slate prevails, a soil rich in iron that imparts character. The wine partially ferments in stainless steel and matures in large oak barrels, thus preserving its freshness and enhancing its elegance.
