Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Vieille Vigne is a wood-aged red wine made by Domaine Fourrier with the Pinot Noir variety in the AOC Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru/Côte-d'Or, in Burgundy (France).
 
Domaine Fourrier is a family domain located in the region of Gevrey-Chambertin. More than five generations have worked Grand Cru and Premier Cru vines since Fernand Pernot founded the winery in 1950. They make classic and extremely high-quality wines.
 
Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Vieille Vigne comes from a vineyard considered to be the best of the Premier Crus in Gevrey-Chambertin. A vineyard of just 0.89 hectares with very old vines aged over 100 years old. They are cultivated using environmentally-friendly agriculture and limited yields. The harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. 
 
In the winery, the Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Vieille Vigne grapes are first selected and destemmed and then undergo a natural pre-maceration of 3 to 4 days before spontaneously fermenting with native yeasts. Finally, the wine ages in French oak barrels for 18 months.
