About Courvoisier Napoleon

Since 1828, Maison Courvoisier has been synonymous with excellence in the production of cognac. Founded by Félix Courvoisier in the heart of the Cognac region (France), this house has preserved a distillation tradition that enhances the very essence of its terroir. It is a vibrant style, rich in history, and deeply connected to the land.

It is said that the name Courvoisier Napoléon originated from a legend explaining that in 1811, Napoleon Bonaparte himself tasted this cognac for the first time. Impressed by its quality, he included it in his imperial court. In 1869, Napoleon III, nephew and heir of Napoleon Bonaparte, granted Maison Courvoisier the title of Fournisseur Officiel de la Maison de l'Empereur (Official Supplier to the Imperial Court of Napoleon). Thanks to this mark of distinction, Courvoisier Napoléon cognac became a favourite among European royalty.

The secret of its flavour lies in the meticulous selection of the finest crus in the region, where Courvoisier operates, such as Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois, where grapes of the highest quality are cultivated. Following an exclusive distillation process in small copper pot stills, the spirit is carefully aged in French oak barrels, where its flavour is enriched with subtle hints of vanilla and spices.

This cognac is not merely a drink; it is a collection of sensations that reflect the elegance and character of the House of Courvoisier, a cognac as refined and complex as history itself. To savour it is to taste the legacy of a centuries-old tradition, a tradition that, like Napoleon himself, has left an indelible mark on history.

Courvoisier Napoléon is a tribute to grandeur, history, and the art of distillation. Perfect for special occasions, it is the ideal choice for those seeking a unique experience, worthy of an emperor.
