Tasting notes Viña Zorzal Crianza 2022
Red wine Aged in wood. 24 meses en barricas y hormigón.
Viña Zorzal Crianza 2022 arrives with charm and sophistication, like that friend who is always well-received. Ripe fruit emerges, accompanied by a hint of rosemary and thyme, reminiscent of a playful stroll through the countryside at dusk. As it breathes, a mentholated breeze refreshes the scene, and a subtle sweet nuance invites the next sip. On the palate, it is juicy and refined, with gentle tannins that glide effortlessly. A bold yet very clean red wine, demonstrating that its excellent value for money can be a true celebration for those seeking immediate pleasure.

About Viña Zorzal Crianza
Within the expansive realm of ornithology, there are millions of birds, each possessing unique characteristics that distinguish them. The thrush is a bird renowned for its melodious song, which often resonates in the early hours of the morning, at dawn. Its song is distinctive and, in some species, can be heard even before the sun rises, earning it a certain reputation as the "morning singer." Beyond its song, the thrush is a symbol of serene and natural landscapes, making its presence on the labels of the Viña Zorzal project a nod to the connection of this original winery from Navarra (Spain) with the land and respect for the natural environment where its vineyards are cultivated. This project, founded in 1989 by Antonio Sanz with the aim of producing his own wines in the region, has been led since 2007 by his three sons, who have inherited the same vinicultural passion passed down by their father. Embracing the principles of authenticity, simplicity, and respect, Viña Zorzal has managed to elevate its emblem, earning well-deserved recognition worldwide.
Their wine Viña Zorzal Crianza is a blend of the native garnacha variety with a small percentage of graciano sourced from vineyards located in the Navarrese towns of Corella, Cintruénigo, and Fitero. These are old vines cultivated organically and under a philosophy of minimal intervention. In the winery, the selected, destemmed, and crushed grapes ferment with indigenous yeasts in 10,000-litre stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation takes place in French barrels of 225 and 300 litres, where it remains for 2 years before being bottled, unfiltered and unclarified.
With Viña Zorzal Crianza, the Sanz brothers not only pay homage to their land and family legacy but also, like the thrush, awaken the senses with a unique melody that endures, inviting those who taste it to enjoy a wine rich in character, tradition, and respect for nature.

Viña Zorzal Crianza 2021 exhibits a captivating bright ruby hue. On the nose, it is distinguished by its intense aromas of red fruits such as cherries and strawberries, accompanied by spices and subtle earthy notes. On the palate, it is fresh and well-balanced, with smooth tannins that contribute a pleasant texture. The red fruits are discernible once more, alongside a mineral undertone. Herbaceous nuances of rosemary and thyme are also evident, with a slightly mentholated hint. It is an expressive and refined wine, with a concentrated profile and a succulent finish. |
