About Viña Eguía Reserva
Viña Eguía Reserva is a red wine from Eguía made by Bodegas Rioja, a winery founded in El Ciego, a town with a long winemaking tradition.
In the Rioja Alavesa, there are two very different climates, the Mediterranean and the continental Atlantic. Temperatures are mild through the Sierra de Cantabria, which acts as a natural barrier against cold winds coming from the north. It is a varietal Tempranillo from vineyards planted on terraces, slopes and hills of clay-calcareous soils, which are brownish-yellow in colour. This type of soil is perfect for growing grapes and to ensure the quality of the wines. As for the process, a traditional fermentation is performed in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, Viña Eguía Reserva is aged for 24 months in new French and American oak barrels.
