About Vigneti Massa Sentieri

Vigneti Massa Sentieri is a red wine produced by the Vigneti Massa winery in northern Italy, specifically in the D.O.C. Colli Tortonesi.

Vigneti Massa is located in the hills of Tortona, in Piedmont (between the city of Tortona and Genoa), where they have been making wines since 1789. Today this company is run by Walter Massa, world renowned for his recovery of the Timoraso (a variety native to northern Italy that was on the verge of disappearing). The foundation of this business lies in the 23 hectares of vineyards, planted at an altitude of 300 metres above sea level, which are cultivated and where the Barbera grows on very varied soils.

The Vigneti Massa Sentieri vinification process begins with a 10-day maceration, where the grape must is in contact with the skins. This will extract both aromas and colour. After this, the grape pulp is transferred to stainless steel tanks where it ferments. Once it has been made into wine and is ready, Vigneti Massa Sentieri is pressed and bottled quickly to keep all the aromas of the grapes intact.
