From a very small solera of very few casks, Valdespino Rare Spirits Brandy de Jerez is one of the most special spirits you can find. Valdespino Rare Spirits Brandy de Jerez comes from a very small reserve destined for the private use of the Valdespino family, the owners of one of the most important and long-established wineries of the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry. For more than a century, specifically since 1856, this batch has been stored in the winery, aging little by little in old casks used for finos and amontillados, until it saw the light of day again in 2016. However, when it comes to the Valdespino winery, 30 years is nothing. According to history, the origin of these wineries dates back to 1264 (the time of Alfonso X), when the knight Don Alfonso Valdespino fought alongside this king, and 23 other knights, in the reconquest of Al Andaluz. Once the fight was over, and in compensation for his bravery, the king rewarded the nobleman with the concession of land in Jerez de la Frontera, and since then, the company has remained active, passing through different hands and owners.
