About Trimbach Riesling
Trimbach Riesling is a single-variety Riesling white wine from Alsace AOC made by Trimbach.
Trimbach is a winery dating back to 1626 and located in the medieval city of Ribeauvillé. The Trimbach family has been at the helm for 13 generations and currently has over 15,000 hectares of vineyards. About 1,600 of these are classified as Grand Cru. Throughout their history they have produced fruity but structured, elegant, balanced and long-living wines. The wine is not aged in foudres or barrels but it always spends a few months or years aging in the bottle in the winery so it is at its best when it reaches the market.
The soils where the Trimbach Riesling grapes grow are formed with marl, limestone and sandstone. The area has a semi-continental climate, with cold and dry winters and hot summers. There is relatively little rainfall because the area is protected by the Vosges mountains.
To make the Trimbach Riesling, the grapes are gently pressed when they get to the winery and then the must is cleaned using gravity. It then ferments in stainless steel vats and is finally bottled without undergoing malolactic fermentation so that the wine retains its full freshness and great aging potential.
Trimbach Riesling is a vibrant and precise white with citrus and quince notes, an interesting minerality and good aging potential.
2019 | Trimbach Riesling 2019 is an aromatic white wine boasting a delectable bouquet of ripe citrus, herbaceous undertones, and hints of crisp white fruit. On the palate, it is invigorating, effervescent, and well-balanced. This wine features pronounced acidity and an impressive length. |
|
2017 | Trimbach Riesling 2017 is a white wine with citrus and mineral aromas on the nose, which are associated with good maturity and acidity. The palate brings to mind ripe fruit, quince, grapefruit and lemon, with good acidity and a pleasant and lasting aftertaste. The acidity shows that the wine has good aging potential. |
