One of the most successful wines from this Tuscan winery is Tenuta Le Colonne Bolgheri Superiore, a blend of the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc international varieties found along the coast between 5 and 150 metres above sea level. These are his own vines planted on sandy soils with the presence of marine fossil sediments. They are organically cultivated with the utmost respect for the environment. In the winery, the selected grapes ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in concrete tanks for 13 days at a controlled temperature of 28ºC maximum. The wine is then aged for 24 months in untoasted French oak barrels. It then rests in the bottle for 3 months before being released for sale.
