About Strohmeier TLZ Weiss Nº12
Strohmeier TLZ Weiss Nº12 is a natural and ecological, barrel-aged white wine made with the Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc varieties in Weinland Österreich, in Styria (Austria) by Strohmeier.
Based in Steiermark, within the Styria region, known as the “green heart” of Austria, Franz and Christine Strohmeier only produce natural wines, free of any chemical additives and practically SO2 free. They are specialists in the production of sparkling wines made using the traditional method of bottle fermentation and they have also created a new range of elegant and fine white wines made in subtle contact with the skins.
Strohmeier TLZ Weiss Nº12 comes from organically cultivated 12-year-old vines planted in gneiss soils with a high content of iron and silicon. Even without having biodynamic certification, they choose to use plant and whey treatments. The strain yield is limited to 20 hl/he and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
The best grapes are selected in the winery to make Strohmeier TLZ Weiss Nº12. They first macerate for 2 hours in contact with the skins and then a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts begins in used 500-litre wooden barrels. It is finally bottled without being clarified, filtered or adding sulphur.
TLZ stands for Trauben, Liebe und Zeit (grapes, love and time) and this is exactly what the producers use to make this Strohmeier TLZ Weiss Nº12 wine. A fine and elegant white wine made in subtle contact with the skins.
2019 | Strohmeier TLZ Weiss Nº10 2019 is an exquisitely sophisticated white wine. The bouquet reveals notes of cucumber, salt, pear, and coriander. On the palate, it is distinctly mineral, with subtle hints of peach and dried herbs. Both elegant and robust. Utterly refined. |

2017 | Strohmeier TLZ Weiss Nº8 2017 is a slightly cloudy white wine with scented notes of orange peel, white flowers and earthy touches. On the palate it is fresh, energetic and salty. A wine with a medium body, fine tannins and a marked acidity. |
