About Rico - Nuevo Garnacha

Rico-Nuevo Garnacha is a red wine made by Rico-Nuevo Viticultores with the Garnacha variety in the D.O. Cebreros (Castilla y León).

Rico-Nuevo is a winery set up by young viticulturist Juan Andrés Martín Pérez, known as Juanan. He is the fourth generation of a family that has always worked their Sierra de Gredos vineyards in a traditional way and he is proud to produce fresh and highly mineral village wines.

Rico-Nuevo Garnacha comes from a selection of plots in different places in the town of Burgohondo. These are old vines planted on granite soils and growing in a characteristically continental climate. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

The Rico-Nuevo Garnacha grapes are vinified by plot. They macerate and ferment with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and no wood is used. When it is ready, the wine is bottled without filtering or clarifying, so it may contain sediment.

Rico-Nuevo Garnacha was this winery’s first wine. A young village red that is easy to drink but with a strong local identity.

Rico - Nuevo Garnacha 2020 is a fruit-driven red wine. The bouquet is pronounced, showcasing fresh fruit aromas, mineral undertones, and floral hints. On the palate, it is light-bodied, sweetly satisfying, and vibrant, with a brief finish.
2019 Rico-Nuevo Garnacha 2019 is a juicy red wine with delicious aromas of fresh red fruit, floral notes and light mineral touches. On the palate it is fruity, light and relaxed. This is a sweet and easy to drink red wine, with a final acidity that will leave you wanting more.
