About Ramón Bilbao Mirto
Bodegas Ramón Bilbao can be found in the heart of D.O. Rioja, on the outskirts of Haro, one of the most privileged areas for growing grapes in the region.
The winery was founded in 1924 but it was in 1972 that they determined the guidelines for the production of Crianza wines. Currently its hallmarks are the development of high quality wines and innovation, keeping the utmost respect for tradition and history that precedes them.
Ramón Bilbao Mirto 2008 was born from a selection of the best Tempranillo grapes grown on vines more than 70 years old. After the selection of the bunches, the fermentation takes place in small oak vats at a controlled temperature and it passes through French oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place without racking, only with battonage.
The wine is aged for 24 months in Allier French oak barrels after which it is bottled without being filtered.
It is a magnificent red wine with great personality and modern style.

Ramón Bilbao Mirto 2018 is a red wine that unveils a captivating bouquet with aromas of fresh black fruit and ripe cherries, complemented by subtle notes of white pepper and a herbal freshness of eucalyptus and mint. On the palate, its unctuousness and length are revealed, with a vibrant acidity that highlights its youth and a mature tannin that provides balance. The tertiary nuances of dark chocolate and coffee add complexity, making it the ideal companion for red meats, barbecues, or aged cheeses, and also with dark chocolate.
