About Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore
Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a barrel-aged red wine made from the cabernet sauvignon, corvina, and rondinella grape varieties, crafted by Giuseppe Quintarelli in the DOC Valpolicella Classico Superiore region (Veneto).
Wines labelled with the Quintarelli name are synonymous with tradition, passion, and the soul of terroir in the Italian hills of Verona. This venture was initiated by the great Giuseppe Quintarelli, the father of Amarone, and is currently carried on by his family under the same standards. These are quality wines that are only released to the market when they are completely ready. Never before.
To be designated as Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore, the grapes must originate from vineyards located at the foothills of the mountains in the Veneto region of northern Italy. This area experiences cold winters and hot summers, allowing for the production of small but highly concentrated berries. Sustainable agriculture practices are employed, and harvesting is done manually.
When the grapes for Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore arrive at the winery, they are immediately pressed to undergo maceration and fermentation for 3 or 4 days with native yeasts. Subsequently, the wine is racked and rests on lees to initiate a second fermentation. Finally, the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for five to six years.
Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a guarantee of authenticity, craftsmanship, and quality. It is a profound, smooth, and elegant wine, a true legacy left by Giuseppe Quintarelli that his family has expertly preserved.
