Quinta Do Crasto Superior

Quinta Do Crasto Superior is a red wine coupage of the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz varieties produced by the Quinta Do Crasto winery in the Douro Valley, Portugal.

The grapes used to make Quinta Do Crasto Superior come from the Quinta da Cabreira plots, owned by Quinta Do Crasto, in the Duero Superior sub-region. After the harvest, the clusters are taken to the winery in plastic boxes where they pass over the sorting table for a final selection before being destemmed and pressed. The must obtained undergoes alcoholic fermentation under controlled temperatures and the resulting wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.

The Quinta Do Crasto winery produces still wines, fortified port wines and extra virgin olive oil, all made from their 130 hectares of land lying 600 metres above sea level in a privileged part of the Douro Valley. Leonor and Jorge Roquette are the fourth generation of this winemaking family and are currently managing the Quinta Do Crasto winery following the good working practices that have set this estate apart for centuries.
