About Ponte da Boga Godello

Ponte da Boga is a Galician white wine made by the Ponte da Boga winery with the native Godello variety in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra.

Ponte da Boga is a Galician winery located in the Terra de Caldelas region, in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra. An area characterised by outstanding slopes that leave no choice other than to practice “heroic viticulture”. A method that this winery has been able to take advantage of by combining traditional methods with cutting-edge technology.

Ponte da Boga Godello comes from two estates in the Ribeira Sacra. One estate sits on the high slopes of Abeleda with shale soils and the other in the Quiroga valley with sandy soil over boulders. The local climate is Atlantic with a continental influence, they use traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually in 18 kg boxes.

After being partially destemmed and pressed, the Ponte da Boga Godello grape ferments at a controlled temperature. Then most of the wine ages for 5 months in stainless steel tanks. At the same time, a small proportion is aged in French oak barrels.

Ponte da Boga Godello is a white wine that enjoys the full minerality and purity that this region’s characteristic terrain provides.
2018 Ponte da Boga Godello 2018 is an aromatic white wine with hints of citrus and white fruits and notes of herbs and jasmine. On the palate it is expressive, flavoursome and very persistent. It has an elegant acidity and a mineral background.
