Pinna Fidelis Vendimia Seleccionada is a barrel-aged red wine made by the Pinna Fidelis winery with the Tinta del País variety in the D.O. Ribera de Duero (Castilla y León).
Pinna Fidelis is a winery that was set up in 2001 in the town of Peñafiel (Valladolid) with the aim of making modern wines that today’s consumer would love. With 200 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Tinta del País, they produce very modern young, aged and reserva wines.
Pinna Fidelis Vendimia Seleccionada comes from their own vineyards planted in the highest areas. These are 30-year-old vines planted in not very fertile and limestone soils. They lie in a continental climate with great temperature variation, which is perfect for growing concentrated grapes. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Pinna Fidelis Vendimia Seleccionada grapes macerate for approximately 40 days and ferment at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. It is then transferred to new American oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and left to age for 12 to 20 months with periodic batonnage and racking. Finally it is clarified and then bottled.
Pinna Fidelis Vendimia Seleccionada is a Ribera de Duero style wine. A red wine that is great for saving, with its excellent aging potential and great aromatic complexity.
