About Nittnaus Gruner Veltliner Selection
Can a wine encapsulate the sun, the landscape, and 300 years of history? In Burgenland, Austria's sunniest region (boasting over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually!), it appears so. Along the shores of the enchanting Neusiedler See, where the climate favours the vine as if it were a clandestine ally, the brothers Andreas and Hans Michael Nittnaus are revolutionising their family legacy with a perfect blend of tradition, talent, and an infectious freshness.
And although this area has historically been red wine territory, the Nittnaus brothers have dared to defy convention: their Grüner Veltliner Selection is a grüner veltliner that shines brightly amidst this sea of reds. The grapes are meticulously cultivated in selected plots, taking advantage of the temperate climate and the region's unique soils. Harvesting is done by hand, selecting only the vineyard's finest. Once in the winery, the process is as meticulous as it is precise: controlled fermentation preserves the variety's natural freshness, while maturation in stainless steel safeguards its delicate aromas and vibrant character.
The result? Nittnaus Gruner Veltliner Selection. A remarkable white wine brimming with juicy yellow fruits, perfectly integrated acidity, and an elegant structure that sets it apart. It is proof that in Burgenland, even in the land of reds, there is room for whites to shine. And when they do so spectacularly, there is no turning back.
