About Maison Orcia Viognier
The earth provides us with everything necessary for life and much more. In addition to supplying us with water, food, raw materials, and regulation and support services, it also offers us spaces for inspiration and expiration. As the young and intrepid winemaker Jean Philippe Manchès aptly puts it, “The real key is understanding how to work with what nature can lend us”. Educated at the wine university of Suze la Rousse, he joined forces with his father and brother to establish a wine trading company in 2016. Thus, under the brand Maison Orcia, he manages to capture the best from the main wine regions of France. A true family adventure where passion for the land takes precedence over everything.
Specifically, in the case of Maison Orcia Viognier Bio, it is a white wine from the IGP Pays d'Oc in the Languedoc-Roussillon (France). Selected vines of the viognier variety, with an average age of 40 years, are planted in southern France on sandy and granite soils. Once the grapes reach their optimal ripeness, they are harvested, selected, and destemmed. After pressing, the resulting must ferments in barrels under temperature control. The malolactic fermentation takes place in vats, and finally, the wine ages in concrete and stainless steel tanks.
Thus, with the understanding that the best we have comes from nature, Maison Orcia Viognier Bio is a reflection of this constant pursuit of excellence. A classic viognier that shines for its richness and minerality.
