About Laus Rosado

“This is a sweet and fresh wine. More like sweeties than ever before,” says Jesús Mur, winemaker of the Laus winery, when he talks about Laus Rosé.

Laus Rosé is a classic. An attractive and elegant wine, a coupage of Syrah and Garnacha Tinta, which now has a new design. Laus Rosado comes from the best vineyards in Barbastro (a town in Huesca, in the D.O. Somontano. This winery, founded in 2002, owns 100 hectares in the south of this denomination (in northeastern Spain), where limestone and gypsum soils abound, at an altitude of between 350 and 400 metres above sea level. Usually, these soils are not very fertile; however, at Bodegas Laus, the vines have managed to settle in this area, thanks to the dry Mediterranean climate (with high temperatures and low rainfall).

In this area, the grapes ripen properly, without any issues, reaching their very best. Once they have been given time to do so, they are harvested and the bunches are taken to the winery, which was recently built and is totally environmentally friendly. The building has three areas: the first for fermentation, the second for aging and the third for bottling.

When the Laus Rosé grapes arrive at the winery, they are received and processed, undergoing pre-fermentation maceration for several hours (in order to extract all the varietal aromas). Once this time has passed, the must is separated from the pomace, and only the free-run juice (obtained by draining, without exerting pressure) is used. Now all that remains is for the juice to be cleaned by decanting, in a natural way, allowing all substances and residues to precipitate. After this, Laus Rosé is ready for fermentation at a gentle temperature, maintaining the young, dynamic and tasty character of this little sweetie.

2022

Laus Rosé 2022 is a fresh, very attractive wine that is sure to leave its mark on you. The experience begins with its seductive colour, which is pale pink, with a crystalline appearance; and continues on the nose, with intense, clean and fruity aromas (sour strawberry, candies), red fruits and caramel (violets). On the palate it is fresh and smooth. Very pleasant and balanced finish.

2021
