About Hunter's Sauvignon Blanc
Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine aged on lees made by Hunter’s in Marlborough, on the South Island of New Zealand, with the Sauvignon Blanc variety.
Founded by Irishman Ernie Hunter in 1979, Hunter’s is one of the pioneering wineries in the Marlborough wine region and one of the best known in New Zealand. After his death, his wife Jane, known as the “First Lady of New Zealand Wine”, took over and built an excellent team to help her. Year after year they produce quality wines with an elegant and classic style.
The Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc wine comes from vines planted in the spectacular Wairau Valley. These are strains grown sustainably and certified as such. The influence of the sea provides a fresh maritime climate that is perfect for the Sauvignon Blanc variety. The harvest is carried out by machine and quickly taken to the winery.
In the winery, the grapes from each vineyard block are kept separate throughout the winemaking process. The Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc grapes are first selected and destemmed, then pressed. The resulting must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine ages for six months before being mixed and bottled.
True to the founder’s focus on quality, Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine that represents the spirit of fruitiness and richness of the Sauvignon Blanc variety on the other side of the world.
2021 | Hunter's Sauvignon Blanc 2021 is a fruit-forward wine. On the nose, it reveals notes of passion fruit, lime, and grapefruit. The palate continues this profile, with a dry and saline touch. It boasts a creamy texture and a succulent finish. |
|
2019 | Hunter’s Sauvignon Blanc 2019 is an aromatic white wine with complex aromas of ripe tropical fruit and mineral notes on the nose. On the palate it is rich, fresh and very fruity with an elegant dry and persistent finish. |
