Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Tinto 2005 is a mature red wine, with a very deep red colour, cherry tones and a brick-red tinge. The nose is very intense, with spicy notes (mainly liquorice) accompanying the black fruit and citrus aromas. Tobacco and fresh fruits also appear in the background. The palate is intense and pleasant, very agreeable and warm. Very rich acidity. Complex finish. A wine to reflect upon.

Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Tinto is a wine that forms part of the Classica collection, a selection where only the finest vintages that this winery—in the DOCa. La Rioja—has meticulously preserved are released to the market. Typically, the wines from this establishment are exceptional. This is attributed to its prime location in San Vicente de la Sonsierra (in La Rioja Alta), nestled beneath the Cantabrian and Toloño mountains, where an ideal microclimate for the vineyards is created, thanks to the influence of the Ebro River (which provides moisture). However, occasionally, this excellence is surpassed by an even more extraordinary harvest, something rare that should not be overlooked. And this is the genesis of the Classica collection.

Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Tinto is a blend of tempranillo and graciano cultivated in the vineyards of La Sonsierra and the Alto Najerilla on clay-limestone soils, which are well-drained and ideal for tempranillo. A profound respect for the land and meticulous craftsmanship are essential; however, the 42 months that Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Tinto spends in French oak barrels (half of which are new) also play a crucial role. Hacienda López de Haro Classica Gran Reserva Tinto 2001 is a ripe, intense red wine, with brick-red tones and tinges of cherry. The nose is complex and mineral, with notes of ripe fruit at the beginning that make way for spicy and herbal hints. Tobacco, vanilla and nuts (totally normal after barrel aging) also stand out. The palate is fine and subtle, with great acidity. Tannic and wild. Very elegant.
