About Gargalo Godello
Gargalo Godello is a white wine produced by Bodegas Gargalo in Verín, D.O.Monterrei.
Bodegas Gargalo is the personal project of the fashion designer Roberto Verino. His maternal grandparents, who cultivated vines in the area of Ribeira Sacra, instilled in him the curiosity for the noble art of winemaking.
It is on the hillside of Monterrey where Roberto Verino found a very special terroir, ideal for his project. An 8-hectare vineyard of an average of 25-30 years old. Embraced by an Atlantic climate with continental influences, with relatively scarce rainfall with respect to its surroundings, and a higher average annual temperature.
Bodegas Gargalo bases its work philosophy on the production of high-quality wines, with the character of the terroir, with the aim of becoming a well-known reference in the Galician wine industry. Their objective is to become the leaders in top-range wines, preserving the nature and respecting the environment.
Gargalo Godello is a wine made from Godello, from their own vineyards located in the Monterrei valley, planted on granite-sandy soils.
Harvesting is carried out manually, selecting the grapes in winery. They ferment in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature, 18ºC, for 15 days. Once the alcoholic fermentation has finished, it remains for around 4 months in the same deposits. It is bottled after clarifying and filtering.
