About Weingut Eymann Pfalzer Riesling Trocken
The Eymann wine estate was founded by Werner Eymann in 1961 in the heart of the Palatinate, the German wine-growing region in the southwest of Germany. This is an area where viticulture has been carried out since Roman times and the wines made here are internationally renowned for their excellent quality. However, it was not until the 1980s that organic production began in this region, and Eymann is one of the pioneering wineries that chose to go down this route. With 15 hectares of vineyards located on the upper terraces of the Rhine, where various grape varieties are grown, show their full commitment to nature and to protecting species. Certified by Demeter since 2006, they have been cultivating their vineyards following biodynamic principles for more than 15 years. This quality is reflected in unique productions of calm and expressive origin that are marked by the location, climate and harvest of each vintage.
The result of this extensive observation of the terroir is Eymann Riesling, a 100% Riesling wine characterised by artisan winemaking and sustainable management. For this reason, no chemicals are used in the vineyard and the vines are cared for with natural biodynamic preparations. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually and taken straight to the winery. There, the grapes are selected, destemmed and gently pressed to initiate spontaneous fermentation with the must obtained in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks. With no oenological additives or clarifying agents, the result is a pure Riesling that perfectly represents the Eymann spirit.
With that in mind, Eymann has made a name for himself in the German organic wine scene. His Eymann Riesling is proof of this. A Riesling full of fruitiness, freshness and minerality.
2020 |
Eymann Riesling 2020 is an aromatic white wine exuding scents of peach and fresh pineapple, complemented by floral undertones and a sweet hint of honey. On the palate, it is zesty, vibrant, and highly mineral. This wine boasts a luminous acidity that reveals herbaceous notes, echoes of white nuts, and saline nuances. |
