About Du Grappin Nature Beaujolais-Villages

What if the finest wines are not necessarily found in the most renowned places? After years exploring the world of wine—California, New Zealand, Burgundy, Australia—Andrew Nielsen not only learned from the greats but chose to look where few did: towards forgotten corners, unassuming plots, and vintners who work with their hands and hearts.

Thus, in 2011, Le Grappin was born, a venture aiming to highlight the lesser-known terroirs of Burgundy, showcasing their unadulterated authenticity with respectful vinification and great precision. Alongside it, Du Grappin expands the winery's universe with a fresher, more carefree line, yet equally meticulous, crafted with grapes from Beaujolais, the Mâconnais, and the Rhône.

A delightful example is this Du Grappin Nature Beaujolais-Villages, a vibrant, luminous, and juicy wine that, after a manual harvest, ferments with whole clusters and indigenous yeasts in concrete vats. With a 10-day maceration, gentle pressing, and a 6-month aging on fine lees in a 30 hL oak vat, a wine with texture and fruity character is achieved.
