About Dominio Fournier Crianza

In the winding course of the Duero River, where the river stones cradle the vineyard, lies a tale of passion, resilience, and reverence for the land. Even before the D.O. Ribera del Duero came into being, Dominio Fournier was already leaving its mark on these rugged and noble lands. Today, more than six decades later, it remains a well-kept secret for those who seek red wines with soul.
 
Established in 1960, this winery has forged its identity through tradition and meticulous attention to detail. Its 50 hectares of vineyards, many bush-trained and sparsely planted, are divided into 22 unique plots, tenderly cared for by expert hands and guided by the wisdom of two passionate oenologists. The poor soil, extreme climate, and the effort of each manual harvest culminate in wines with a vibrant personality, true ambassadors of the deepest Ribera del Duero.
 
Dominio Fournier Crianza is its youngest expression, yet it already showcases the character that defines the house. Crafted from tinta del país (tempranillo) from its own vineyards, it undergoes meticulous vinification, including cold maceration with carbonic snow and malolactic fermentation in barrels. It then rests for a minimum of 12 months in French oak, refining its structure and resulting in a wine where fruit intertwines with delicate ageing notes: spices, gentle toasts, and an elegant minerality.
