About Domaine Violot-Guillemard Pommard
Pommard, diminutive in stature, is an exceptionally prolific village when it comes to the production of high-caliber wines. Nestled in the heart of the Burgundy wine region in France, this charming hamlet is renowned for its vineyards that yield some of the most esteemed wines globally. It is here that we find Domaine Violot Guillemard, a hidden gem that has been meticulously cultivated for 6 generations and today, under the stewardship of Joannès Violot-Guillemard and his minimal intervention approach, has witnessed a truly remarkable rise. Abiding by the philosophy that only the finest grapes can create exceptional wines, they offer vibrant, aromatic, and refined pinot noirs and chardonnays.
Focusing on quality and finesse, Domaine Violot-Guillemard Pommard is a red wine made from pinot noir grapes sourced from ancient vines that are exclusively farmed according to organic principles. In the cellar, with the intent of faithfully reflecting the terroir, the vinification process is conducted without added yeasts, minimal technical intervention, and restrained use of oak to preserve the wine's flavor. This is a wine that macerates and ferments with indigenous yeasts and then ages in oak barrels for 12 months prior to bottling.
With this family-owned winery being one of the rising stars of Pommard, Domaine Violot-Guillemard Pommard serves as an excellent introductory wine both from this small family estate and from Burgundy. A fragrant and delightful pinot noir that stands as a new generation Pommard.
