About Domaine Rostaing Condrieu La Bonnette

Domaine Rostaing Condrieu La Bonnette is a Viognier variety white wine produced by Domaine Rostaing in the AOC Condrieu.

It all started when René Rostaing, a winemaker with a passion for the land, took over several family wineries, including the one belonging to his father-in-law Albert Dervieux-Thaize and his uncle, Marius Gentaz. At present, Domaine Rostaing spreads over 7 hectares across Côte-Rôtie (Ampodium, Côte Blonde, La Landonne), Condrieu (La Bonnette) and Languedoc. They use traditional working practices in the vineyard to ensure the expression of the terroir is fully respected at all times.

The Domaine Rostaing Condrieu La Bonnette cuvée comes from the “La Bonnette” plot, a small limestone hillside with old Viognier variety vines. It contains granite sand soils and faces southwest. The harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness, and they are separated by exposure, vine age and soil composition.

Once the Domaine Rostaing Condrieu La Bonnette grape reaches the winery, most of them are destemmed. Maceration takes place over 10 days. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place with native yeasts. It is aged in 600 litre barrels, of which only 5% is new wood. Once the wine is made, it is not filtered.
