About Domaine Guiberteau Saumur
Domaine Guiberteau Saumur is an organic monovarietal red wine made from Cabernet Franc and produced by Domaine Guiberteau in the Saumur region of the Loire Valley, in France.
Domaine Guiberteau Saumur is a young wine that comes from plots with clay and limestone sols that are cultivated according to the principles of organic agriculture, without applying herbicides or pesticides. The grapes are harvested manually and the fermentation takes place due to native yeasts. The wine ages for approximately six months in large truncoconical barrels.
Domaine Guiberteau is a family winery that dates back to 1934 and is currently run by Romain Guiberteau. He belongs to the fourth generation of the family and has been the driving force behind the conversion of the plots to organic farming under the advice of the Foucault brothers of Clos Rougeard. The estate is made up of 17 hectares of vines that are between 5 and 80 years old and where only the Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc varieties are grown.
In just a few years, Domaine Guiberteau has managed to position itself as one of the most sought-after producers in the Saumur region. Its wines are now found in some of the best restaurants in France.

2017 | Domaine Guiberteau Saumur 2017 is a fresh and smooth red wine. The nose has fruity aromas reminiscent of blackcurrants, blackberries or cherries. It is spicy and with a subtle mineral nuance that is characteristic of the area. On the palate it has an acidity that gives freshness, and again we find the range of fresh red and black fruit that were announced to us on the nose. A wine that, despite its youth, can be enjoyed while preserving its best qualities for the next 8 years. |
