About Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Rosé

Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Rosé is a rosé wine resulting from a coupage where the Grenache predominates and is accompanied by Cinsault, Syrah and Counoise. It is produced by Domaine de la Janesse and belongs to the AOC Côtes du Rhône Rosé.

Domaine de la Janesse is a family winery founded in 1973 and located in the municipality of Courthézon, in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is a winery that in just a few decades has become one of the benchmarks of the Rhone, starting out with 15 hectares of vineyard and currently having about 90. It works without using pesticides or herbicides, and the fertilisers applied are manure of natural origin.

The soils from which Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Rosé comes are diverse. They are made up of sandstone, clays, limestones and pebbles. The age of the vines ranges from 10 to 60 years, and all are grown organically and biodynamically. All the vineyards are harvested by hand.

Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Rosé is a rosé wine made using the technique of drawing off. The harvest is vatted and macerated for a few hours with the skins until the must is considered to have gained enough colour. Once this is achieved, the must is fermented in vats without skins. Lastly, the wine rests at a controlled temperature for 4 months in tanks so that the wine can finish settling.

Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Rosé is an intense and voluminous wine; a wine with a limited production of which only about 8,000 bottles are made.
2018 Domaine de La Janasse Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2018 is a powerful rosé, with body. A fruity and generous rosé, with aromas of strawberry and clay that are perfectly combined. A wine to enjoy as of today and for the next three years.
