About Domaine Bonnefond Condrieu
It is not hard to find and enjoy a wine made in the distinguished AOC Condrieu, in the Rhone (France). Here we have Domaine Bonnefond Condrieu, a wood-aged white wine made by the Bonnefond brothers with the Viognier variety. This wine is one of the most sought-after in the area, and we are lucky that the producers are selling it more widely.
When brothers Christophe and Patrick Bonnefond took over the family estate in the Rhone in 1990, they knew exactly what they were doing. They have a total of 10 hectares of vineyards including a magnificent terroir in Côte Rôtie and Condrieu. This land belongs to two of the most admired denominations of the Rhône and these wines are not to be missed.
Domaine Bonnefond Condrieu comes from a small 1 hectare estate with vines planted on predominantly granite soils. These vines are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. In the winery, the grapes are gently pressed ready to vinify in 440l French oak barrels (with 30% new wood). Benefitting from the Bonnefond brothers’ mastery of the wood, the wine ages on its lees for 12 months.
All of this work results in Domaine Bonnefond Condrieu, a single-variety Viognier that is characterised by a fine minerality that only the best granite soils can provide. This is undoubtedly an extraordinarily aromatic white wine with great finesse.

2019 |
Domaine Bonnefond Condrieu 2019 is a creamy white wine with delicate aromas of fresh flowers, notes of ripe white fruit and subtle hints of vanilla. On the palate it is unctuous, fresh and delicate. A wine that is generous without being heavy, with a beautiful tension that lingers wonderfully until the end. |
