Dievole Petrignano Chianti Classico

Having the “Divine record book” that holds the names of all the families that have worked the land of a property, is an invaluable asset that demonstrates the deep-rooted tradition in Tuscany (Italy). This estate’s name, Diavole, means “God willing” and references its reputation as a divine vineyard. A vineyard of exceptional quality characterised by the typical geological formation found on a mountain in the Tuscan region, Monte Morello, which produces a wine classified within the DOCG Chianti Classico with particularly impressive characteristics.  

Under the name Dievole Petrignano Chianti Classico, which comes from the estate’s stony and mineral soils, this is a red wine made with the Sangiovese variety. A single-variety wine from 8-year-old vines lying at an altitude of 335 metres above sea level. It is organically cultivated and the grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum point of ripeness. In the winery, the grapes ferment at controlled temperatures in 75 hectolitre concrete tanks for 14-15 days. The wine is then aged for 13 months in large 41 hectolitre French oak barrels. Once ready, it is bottled and remains in the winery for 3 months before being released for sale.

The result of a strong winemaking tradition that family after family has managed to preserve over the years, Dievole Petrignano Chianti Classico is a wine that highlights the intrinsic characteristics of a divine vineyard and stands out for giving the most mineral expression to the Sangiovese variety.
