Didier Dagueneau Les Jardins de Babylone is a biodynamic, wood-aged white wine made by Didier Dagueneau with the Petit Manseng variety in the AOC Jurançon denomination.
One of the most influential winegrowers in the Loire, Didier Dagueneau is best known for his smoky whites made with the Sauvignon Blanc variety using biodynamic principles. The winery has more than 11 hectares of vineyards spread across Pouilly Fumé, Sancerre and Jurançon and their wines are considered some of the best white wines in the Loire and even in the world. When Didier died in 2008, the baton was passed to his son Louis Benjamin Dagueneau.
Didier Dagueneau Les Jardins de Babylone comes from a 3 hectare vineyard in Jurançon planted with the native Petit Manseng variety. The vines are cultivated using biodynamic agriculture, with organic treatments and low yields. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually.
Didier Dagueneau Les Jardins de Babylone is vinified through spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. The wine then ages for a minimum of 5 years in foudres made specially for Dagueneau.
Aside from their Pouilly Fumé wines, Didier Dagueneau Les Jardins de Babylone also showcases the full purity and precision of the best Dagueneau wines. A dry white from Jurançon with incredible aging potential.
